A head full of music

My head has been chocked full of music recently; there have been music (and still are) with my daughter, music projects of my own and songs appearing all over the place.

This is great, but it is also getting a little in the way of other things. Now that the books are pretty much done and out there (that took up a great deal of time), I now have the time to concentrate on other things. For example, I really would like to get some prints dome of the pictures and offer these as posters for a start.

But every time I would start doing this, a song would pop up and demand attention

Now that Kingdom Come is finished and "out there", I hope I can now get a bit more into illustration and prints. I'm in the process of making good quality photos of the pictures and finding companies that can make good quality prints.

I've already ordered one and am waiting to see what the quality is like.

The first one is "The million Nightmare Manuscript Part1".

This is the first part of an ongoing piece of work started in 1986.

It originally started out as just a painting (inks and pencils on Daler board ca 80 cm long), but when it was finished, I realised I had more to put in. So, I started a second one. This new on was meant to fit on the first. So, one can be laid next to the last making one big picture. This carried on, and now I am on the 4th part (as yet unfinished). This means that the overall piece at the moment is about 240 cm long and highly detailed.

I would like the posters to reflect this, so that they can be laid end on end to reproduce the entire piece (see below). This was the original idea, to do an exhibition with one single piece of work. I just underestimated exactly how long this was going to take.

So, if all works as planned and the print quality is good, these will be available as posters ca 80x60 cm and will fit together. This also means that other pictures of the same size will also be available as posters (see the Art and Illustration page).

This is something I have wanted to do for many years. Only back in 1986 there was no chance of getting this printed (without a plate being made etc. A ridiculously costly process). Finally, with computers and POD this can become a reality.

Just like making music. Back then, you only had the choice of hiring a studio (which was stupidly expensive and not for those on the dole). Now, you have the technology at your finger tips, which is great.

This is why all this is appearing and coming out of me now, books, posters, music etc. The technology of this age offers a unique opportunity to turn your ideas and dreams into reality.

There is a great deal to bitch about when it comes to the internet, but it has upsides that were unimaginable a few years ago.
