Bittersweet

Well...Bittersweet the video is finally done!!

Yes way!!

It was a long wait but worth it I think.

We didn't quite get the weather we wanted, but you have to make do when the Devil vomits on your bedspread! The main thing is it's done!

A little bit about the track. It was written a while ago now. Nom had a break up with a lad who was not nice to her (twice!). Daddy was not pleased and decided to put pen to paper and Bittersweet was the result.

I wanted the video to be a story video (like videos of of the 80's) and to have elements of Blade Runner, complete with replicants, and a 1930's film noir feel to go along with the 80's electronic Euro-trash beat in the song. The creepy string bit gives it an air of mystery.

It was filmed in Essen Steele which, as you can see, has some nice old cobbled streets and a lovely church.

It was wet(ish) and cold. Poor Nom has to traipse about in stilettos with bare legs, she got a blister, but bore it out and did a great job putting up with her dad's nutty ideas.

Thanks Nom! You're Ace...I'll smoke you a kipper!!

It contains the only bit of rapping that you will ever hear me do (I promise) and a bit of German at the end from Nom (to keep in with the Euro trash style), and look out for the quote from Falling Down, a corker of a film.

Anyway, we got it done and, for a cheap little video made with no equipment, I'm quite chuffed with it and we hope you enjoy it.

Just quickly- The video (lyrics only) for The Pool Of Life is now on Youtube. You can watch it there or here on the music page where all the videos we and I have done are to be found. Like I said in the last blog, we will do a video for it showing the places and references made in the song the next time we got over to Liverpool. But that will be a while yet, thanks to the virus f unknown origin which shall remain unnamed. But it will be done....I hope.

One more thing- On the BOOKS page are now two other books available from Amazon.

They are not from me but written by my nephew Gary Stevens. They are centered on self improvement and motivation and can be bought for a sensible amount for your Kindle if you have one. I do and I have the books too. Pop over and have a look- see if they tickle your pickle....or something.

So, "BUT ROB!" I hear you wail in anguish filled anticipation (or was it boredom? Yeah, it was boredom! Sorry, it looked like anguished anticipation from this angle)..."BUT ROB! When is it going to be on Youtube?"

Well, the thing is, Nom hasn't seen it yet. So, as soon as she has and has given her okay, I will put it online.

I will inform you though via the blog and on Facebook beforehand.

It will be just before the weekend. So, something to brighten the end of the week up there for you. I can see you are chuffed (or is it depressed tedium? Yeah, it's depressed tedium! Sorry, I'm going to have to change my angle, I really am!)
