Just a quickie (oh, no missus no. Stop it!) to say thank you to all those who have taken an interest in the Youtube videos, the Blog and website, the books and all that. All of this is great fun for me, I wouldn't do it otherwise, but it is also a tremendous amount of work and takes time and heart. I appreciate that you appreciate the stuff I do, so this song is just for you.
All rights for this song belong to The Scaffold...and rightly so.
If you do not know The Scaffold you should go and inform yourself. They are, or were, a great Liverpool band. Roger McGough, Mike McGear and John Gorman were the voice of Liverpool for a generation. Thank you for them for the song Thank You.
For the none English / Scouse speakers (Scouse is the dialect and accent of Liverpool) an Aintree Iron is a horse shoe. Aintree (Old English Aan Treowe, meaning a or one tree). The city is famed for the Liverpool football club stadium (in Anfield- aan feld or a field, but also for the race course where the Grand National is run, hence Aintree Iron/ horse shoe.
